Why PE and Coaching Magnets Work

Visualize skills, positioning, and strategy step-by-step instead of relying on verbal explanation alone

  • Make movement, spacing, and decision-making interactive through hands-on modeling

  • Support clear communication of plays, formations, roles, and responsibilities

  • Encourage discussion, collaboration, and tactical reasoning during instruction and review

  • Support whole-group demonstrations, small-group work, and individual practice

  • Reinforce concepts already taught in physical education, coaching, and sport science programs

PE & Coaching Modules (SP1–SP5)

EdMagZ® PE and Coaching Magnet Modules include a sequence of hands-on instructional tools designed to support physical education, coaching, and sport science instruction across a range of age levels and settings. Modules SP1–SP5 provide sport-specific modeling systems for basketball, football, soccer, baseball/softball, and hockey, allowing teachers and coaches to build scaled playing surfaces and position players to explore skills, formations, spacing, and game situations. Player magnets can be written on with dry-erase markers so coaches can label names, numbers, or positions, making it easy to announce starting lineups, organize personnel, and bring clarity and energy to locker rooms and team meetings. In physical education classes, teachers can use the modules to introduce positions, formations, and basic strategy before students move onto the field or court, helping learners visualize roles and expectations in advance. By building, moving, labeling, and revising player positions in real time, these modules support clear communication, tactical understanding, and a confident transition from board-based instruction to active play.

Teacher Sets
Whole-class instruction on a classroom whiteboard

Teacher Sets are designed for whole-class instruction using a standard classroom whiteboard. The larger pieces are easy for all students to see, even from the back of the room.

The components match the Student Sets exactly, allowing teachers to model processes, pathways, and structures on the board while students follow along at their desks. This shared visual language helps reinforce understanding and keeps lessons aligned.

Teacher Sets are ideal for direct instruction, guided practice, and whole-class demonstrations.

Recommended whiteboard size: 36 × 48 inches or larger

Student Sets
Individual and small-group modeling at desks

Student Sets are scaled for individual or small-group use at desks or tables. They are ideal for partner work, tutoring, stations, and homeschooling.

The pieces match the Teacher Sets exactly—just at a smaller size—so students can mirror classroom models while working at their desks. This alignment allows students to follow demonstrations in real time, build the same models independently, and actively demonstrate their thinking through movement and revision.

Student Set bundles of 6 modules or more receive a 10% discount. Discounted pricing appears automatically in the shop.
